Chief Financial Officer (CFO) Introduction:

Chief Financial Officer (CFO) Responsibilties:

This position reports to the CEO. Duties may include:

  • Supporting the CEO through the planning and implementation of financial goals, strategy, and performance assessments.
  • Working closely with the executive team and advising on business decisions and investments from a financial perspective
  • Coordinating investment procedures, funding, and other significant activities
  • Acting as the head of the finance department and overseeing their operations
  • Overseeing budget activities and supporting the Budget Manager as needed
  • Managing partner and third-party relationships and associated costs
  • Coordinating risk assessment activities for business decisions
  • Setting budgets and monitoring spending of all departments, making adjustment or approving requests as needed
  • Establishing best practices and policies and overseeing their implementation
  • Presenting reports and updates to our board of directors
  • Ensuring compliance with industry standards and rules, as well as prov/state/federal legislation
  • Other duties as assigned

Chief Financial Officer (CFO) Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or a related field of study
  • MBA Degree
  • CFA, CPA, or CMA considered a strong asset
  • 10+ experience in the finance industry with demonstrated career progression
  • 4-5 years of management experience
  • Experience in our industry considered a strong asset but not required
  • Excellent interpersonal communication skills
